Who are you? No, who are you really? Whether we realize it or not, we are all trying to answer the question: “Who am I?” The word that describes this quest to find and answer that question is summed up in one personal and pivotal word: Identity. This world’s fundamental problem is that we do not understand who we truly are. Most of us are unaware of the source of our identity until something disrupts it, we call that an “identity crisis.” When our identity and whatever we’ve built that on, begins to fail, we simply choose another way to identify and personify ourselves, don’t we? We go from one compulsion to another, one commitment to another, one relationship to another. And what are we doing here? We’re trying to find our identity. We look to our culture, friends, family, and even our own smarts trying to find out who we are.
But… what if instead of all that, there was a different option? What if instead of the labels of our culture, there was a different label we take on? And what if that label, that identity, transformed the kind of people we are in the present, and radically reshaped who we are to become in the future? This series looks at those different labels, and at answering a different question for personal identity. That question and the source of that true identity and how to find it, changes everything. Let’s find out Who We Are Instead.
