2024 City Serve

At Summit our vision is to be a church that is In the City for the City – we love our city and the people in it, and want Spokane to thrive.

We value the biblical practice of serving and believe helping our community is both a blessing to others and a catalyst for our own spiritual growth. Let’s build gospel community while we help serve our city together on Saturday, June 1, 2024.

Serving Opportunities

This year we are focusing on four specific locations so we can truly serve together in community. All opportunities will be in the morning on Saturday, June 1, so we can celebrate with a BBQ and Ben and Jerry’s ice cream at Summit South at noon!

Logan Neighborhood Cleanup

Summit U, 10am-12pm

We will be working with the Logan Neighborhood Council to clean up around the Summit U community. We will clean up trash and unruly vegetation to beautify the area, increase walkability for neighbors and make a big impact on the community. No age restrictions.

Planting with Friends of the Bluff

Campion Park, 10am-12pm

The High Drive Bluff Trails are a popular recreation spot that many of us enjoy. This is an opportunity to give back and enjoy nature while serving our city. We will be planting and watering trees with Friends of the Bluff. No age restrictions, but participants should be prepared for light exercise.

Serving at Southside Food Pantry

2934 E. 27th, 10am-12pm

The Southside Food Pantry serves families from our community who experience food insecurity. Currently, they serve about 300 families per week. We will be loading carts with food and walking with clients to their cars. Kids ages 6-12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Food Kit packaging with Generation Alive

Summit South MPR, 10am-11am & 11am-12pm

Join us at Summit South with Generation Alive, an organization that strives to activate youth to live and lead with compassion. We will be packaging oatmeal that we will then donate to the Southside Food Pantry. Our goal is to create 1500 packages of oatmeal! Ages 5 and up.
