Baptisms are a celebration of the grace of God that changes everything!

We believe water baptism is a response of an individual who has come to know Jesus, who understands the message of the gospel – that they are saved by grace through faith alone – and who has seen the grace of God change their life.

Baptism is a public declaration symbolic of putting our old self to death and being raised to new life in Jesus!

Baptism FAQ

Simply put, when you believe in Jesus. If you have chosen to put your faith and belief in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of your life, then getting baptized is a great next step in your obedience and faith in Jesus. [Acts 8:12, Acts 8:26-20, Acts 16:25-40]

At Summit we believe going under the water during baptism is symbolic of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. When we come up out of the water, we are a new creation in Jesus.

[Romans 6:3–6]

Ultimately, we believe this is up to you.  At Summit we believe it is your inward faith in Christ as your Savior, and not the outward act of baptism that saves you. However, getting baptized should be an intentional decision you make as a step of obedience and faith in Jesus. If you were baptized as an infant as an expression of your parents faith then we would encourage you to be baptized as an adult, as a witness of your own personal decision to follow Jesus.

No. At Summit we do not believe you are being baptized into our Church or the Foursquare Denomination. Rather you are taking a significant step in your own personal walk with Jesus.

At Summit we do not baptize infant children. We believe that baptism is a personal decision that each individual must make on their own. We perform baby dedications for parents who wish to commit their infant children to grow up in a Jesus-centered household. If you’re interested in dedicating your child, click here
