Day 9: Tuesday, January 16, 2024

Written by Pastor David

Take a moment to pause, be still, and prepare your heart and mind to receive God’s word.

READ: Leviticus 16:1-5

Sin is serious. Sin is dealt with through death. Where God’s presence is, sin can not be. The stakes are high. Who of us would want to be the one representing a whole nation to approach the presence of God in the sanctuary area with these stakes? Who can meet these high standards? But someone had to do it, and God chose Aaron, but not without warning–-he was only allowed to enter when he was invited.

As Christians we believe God has dealt with our sin through the sacrifice of Jesus. He was the one to enter the holy presence of God and deal with our sin through his death, burial, and resurrection. In Jesus, we have been invited to approach God with confidence at all times. But this doesn’t change the fact that sin is still serious. As we approach God, let us not forget that he still offers to deal with our sin. Like Aaron, let’s give our sin to God as sacrifice.

REFLECT:
What are some things God has saved you from? What are some areas in your life you need to invite God to mold you in? Take some time to bring your sin to God, repent, and receive his grace.

PRAYER:
Thank you for giving me life when my sin had earned me death.

FAMILY MOMENT:
Make sure each person is looked in the eye and told, “In Jesus, God has taken your sin and replaced it with his grace.”
