Day 21: Sunday, January 28, 2024

Witten by Pastor Nathan

Take a moment to pause, be still, and prepare your heart and mind to receive God’s word.

READ: Psalm 27:4-8

You know that peak moment when everything seems to be going wrong? The moment when difficulties with family, work, school, and your social life all come to a head and you’re ready to either shut down and seclude, or ramp up and act out? For me these feelings can lead me to get so lost in my own head that I begin to feel isolated and alone, but the reality is that I’m not actually alone. This is a feeling we have all felt at some point and time, including David in this very Psalm. He’s in it. His enemies surround him, yet He knows that God is with Him. David’s cry to God isn’t that he would outsmart his enemy to win the battle, instead, he passionately prays that he would not lose sight of the goodness and faithfulness of God. He’s experienced the good work of God in His life, so he chooses to eagerly run back to it!

REFLECT:
What are the things that seem to be stacking up in your life right now causing you to feel stressed, anxious, or overwhelmed? What are some practical things that you can do in the moments when the stressors are on the front of your mind?

PRAY:

FAMILY MOMENT:
Take some time to identify and speak out loud the areas in your life that are causing you to feel overwhelmed, then take them to God and pray for each other.
