Day 17: Wednesday, January 24, 2024

Written by Pastor Andrew

Take a moment to pause, be still, and prepare your heart and mind to receive God’s word.

READ: Matthew 13:44-46

Sometimes, I have to remind myself who I am. I’ll forget why I do what I do, perhaps fall into passivity, and feel like I’m becoming less of myself. I’ll then turn to a note on my phone that reminds me of how uniquely loved I am by God, my family, and my friends.

When it comes to the Kingdom of Heaven, I want to remind you today, follower of Christ, of a few truths:

  • You are a citizen of a Kingdom you cannot fully see.
  • You serve a King who will one day literally destroy sin.
  • And that King has brought you back to life.

To you, follower of Christ, I say: hold your head high! You are an image bearer of the most magnificent. You can enjoy the presence of God today and serve Him in ways that are unique to who you are and where you are. Take a deep breath and remember that your identity is in Christ, and Christ alone! To Him be the glory forever.

REFLECT:
What would it look like for you to carry a kingdom mindset today?
What are some practical ways to build the kingdom in the next hour?

PRAY:
King Jesus, you are the Creator and my Savior. You defeated sin on the cross and have gathered your people to be your church. You brought the Kingdom and now we get to live into it. Show me today, Lord, how I can serve you and be near you.

FAMILY MOMENT:
What are your favorite kingdom stories? What ignites your imagination for the kingdom of God?
