Day 4: A Lesson in Intercession

Today’s Scripture:

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.
1 Timothy 2:1-2

Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.
Matthew 18:19

If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayer that is made in this place.
2 Chronicles 7:14-15

Proverbs 31:8-9
Matthew 28:18-19
Matthew 9:38

Prayer + Reflection

  1. The miraculous power of God penetrates our human frailty and brings divine understanding. Ask the Lord for the Holy Spirit’s powerful presence and healing power to be prevalent.
  2. Pray for God’s truth to be revealed against lies and evil in the world. If specific things come to mind, pray for them specifically.
  3. Ask God for justice and compassion for the poor and helpless, and that you will find tangible ways to help share love with them.
